Have your eyebrows have turned grey overtime?Maybe they've been tattooed in the wrong position and you just dont feel like you when you look in the mirror?
Unfortunately, we have have seen and corrected lots of bad microblading and permanent make up.
There are techniques to improve and correct permanent make up which may have gone wrong or changed in the skin over time.
Correction is often a process and unfortunately there is rarely a quick fix. The golden rule is the more the pigment has faded the easier it is to correct. The quality of the skin in the area is very important as it will be the canvas for your new eyebrow design.
PLEASE NOTE: the eyebrow pigment will often not have to be completely removed to correct but it often needs to be significantly lighter to sit behind the new design.
Colour Correction workPermanent make up often needs adjustmentover time as the pigment ages in the skin. The biggest mistake at people often make ishaving their eyebrows topped up too manytimes. This can leave them with unwantedcolour tones of murky pigment and layers ofscar tissue. I have seen grey, blue, orange, pinkand purple tones in old pigment.Sometimes if the eyebrow is too saturatedonly removal of the pigment will correct this. However, if the area is faded then correctionmay be possible and corrective toners may beapplied in some casesColour adjustment can also be achieved bybringing the pigment to the surface of theeyebrow using lightening treatments. This canrevive and refresh the colour sometimes, especially when they are grey on tone.
THE RULESThe skin is like a sponge and it will only hold a certainamount of pigment. When an eyebrow is full ofpigment (highly saturated), you can not cover it upwith new pigmentI will not cover up old pigment if it is not in the rightplace. If you need your eyebrows reducing in size you willneed some sort of removal process.if pigment is not removed, it will show through.Hairstrokes are difficult and sometimes impossible tohold on previously traumatised skin. In this cases anombre or powder brow is the best choice.REMOVAL & LIGHTENINGRemoval sounds scary but it often isn't asbad as people think.Saying that, it isn't a quick fix - sorry thereis no such thing!Correction work is always a process.Never fixed in one treatment but whenyou are back on track, minimalmaintenance is required
Non Laser Removal method is safe for removal of scalpmicropigmentation, microbladed eyebrows, lips, eyeliner andbody tattoos and it is A LOT less painful than laser tattooremoval. This removal technique, can lighten or removepigment and ink migration. It works on all colours and it evencan help to break down scar tissue in the area using needling. The other main method of removal is Laser.Laser removal can be very painful and when breaking downthe pigment/ink, the body absorbs the ink/pigment andremoves it through the lymphatic system. Some lasers onlyfocus on certain colours of pigment due to frequencies butthere are now some very advanced laser systems which arevery effective on multiple frequencies.Non Laser removal works completely differently to laser. Itdraws the pigment/ink from the skin upwards minimisingsubstances being absorbed by the body which is a far moreeffective, safer and a pain free alternative. How long will it take andhow many sessions?Depending on the type and saturation of yourprevious tattoo will determine how manysessions is needed. Because the pigment islifted up through the skin, it may take a whileto reach the surface. In that time the pigmentmay change colour as it comes up through theskin. If you have had several sessions of pmuin the area, the removal process will lift themout layer by layer and revealing more oldpigment as it goes.
Results can vary from customer tocustomer and we can never guaranteethat pigment will disappear completely. This will be discussed prior to treatment. In a small number of cases, Pigment maydarker after the first treatment. In the caseof colour correction work, it may changethe colour as it lifts, at least to a stagewhere you are more comfortable with thetone or to the level at which it can becorrected. In some cases, customers mayrequire 2 - 3 treatments and some up to 6.Removal solution will be applied to the area using a tattoo machine. A secondarynumbing solution will be applied after the first pass/ application to make the procedurecomfortable. The session will take up to 1 hour. The risks of the procedure1.That the pigment doesn’t lighten due to saturation, depth or pigment type2.Scarring can occur if the client picks or scratches at the area. They will scab and wewant them too, as this will help the pigment lift. But the scabs must fall off naturally.3.If you suffer from hypo/ hyperpigmentation then having this procedure may causethis to worsen. The same applies for semi permanent make up procedures.4.The area will appear red, maybe swollen and sore to touch afterwards. It will flakeand scab in most cases. you will not be able to disguise it while the crusts arepresent. You have to treat this as a wound. The benefits of the treatmentPigment is removed from the skin over time to lighten the areaThe tone of the pigment can change as its brought forward towards the upper layersof the skin.Removal can get the pigment to the saturation point to the level in which furtherwork can be done. The process can assist with improving the condition of the skin as the needlesimulates collagen and breaks down scar tissue.Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process andpatience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lighteningproduct service or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chanceto work. You can expect visible and wanted results in 3 to 6 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is,how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for thedesired result. In many cases only a percentage of the density needs to belightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process bycolour correcting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, colour correcting will not be an option and removing as much of the pigmentas possible will be our ultimate goal. The rate at which the pigment lifts is determined by:-How deep the pigment has been placed into the skin. How long the pigment has been there. How saturated the pigment is ie, how many layers. The type of pigment used, carbon based tattoo ink is harder to remove thaniron oxide based pigment. There are two types of removal solutions that I use here at the clinic.
What is Salt and Saline Tattoo as a solution that, along with the correct removal method is a simple and safe method of tattoo removal. It is commonly used on semi-permanent makeup procedures that are no longer desired, but can be used on body tattoos also. The main ingredient used is Sodium Chloride (Salt). When the sterile salt solution is implanted into the unwanted tattoo ink via specialised
tattooing techniques, the osmotic process is induced
which successfully attracts the fragmented ink particles
thus drawing them out of the skin
This method is highly effective and commonly used
within the initial stages of permanent cosmetics
correctional work to lighten ill-placed, badly shaped
discoloured cosmetic enhancements
ADVANTAGES
1. Suitable for all skin types
2. Incurs minimal scarring
3. Most natural method
4. A salt and saline solution is not colour selective and is equally effective upon all ink colours
5. Suitable for old and new permanent cosmetics and
tattoos
6. Hair growth is not affected within the treated area
The Procedure
The technique used for salt and saline tattoo removal is very similar to techniques used for administering
micropigmentation, which you willalready be very
familiar with. The puncturing of the skin will open the
area and will create an environment for the salt and
saline to enter and therefore the osmotic process is
induced, which successfully attracts the fragmented ink particles, thus drawing them out of the skin
Clients should expect to need between 4-8 procedures before achieving the results they are looking for. Every
client is different and will need their expectations
managed, depending on the severity of the previous
pigment coverage and depth,
What can the client expect during and after the
procedure?
During the procedure, the client should expect some
minor bleeding and some bruising. The treated area will also be tender for a few days. The skin should scab over and heal over the course of a few weeks. The scabs that form will fall off and remove old pigment with them

Pros of Laser removal:
• Very effective process with low infection risk
• Good for all size and colour of tattoos
. Quick treatment time
• Can achieve full removal
When the pigment has healed pink, it is due to many
factors. Poor pigment choice and the quality of pigment are the main factors. This pigment tends to be fairly superficial and simple to remove.
When the pigment has healed dark in colour and often
blue/grey/green, it is due to the needle being penetrated too deep ito the skin, When the pigmentis implantec deep into the dermis/ subcutaneous layer, it is going to heal very dark and become blurry as a result of pigment migration. This pigment is very stubborn and difficult to remove and will require several sessions, if not referral to a laser removal specialist.
Most of your clients will be using a skin care regime and may incorporate some of the below. You will need to take extra caution and possibly defer the appointment if you have concerns
Daily Products: Retin A, Retinol, Retinoid, Tretinoin,
Vitamin A
All these thin the skin which will increase the risk of
scarring and delay healing. Please ask clients to ideally stop discontinue use 4 weeks prior and post their appointment.
Skin Peels: AHA's, Glycolic Acids, Lactic Acids, TCA
Peels, Laser Peels
All of these thin the skin which will increase the risk of scarring and delay healing. Please ask clients to ideally stop discontinue use 4 weeks prior and post their appointment.
Sun Beds/Sun Exposure
Clients should avoid UV exposure for 2 weeks prior to
their appointment.
For up to two weeks after your appointment, the
procedure area may experience the following
symptoms:
Flaking
Tenderness
Dryness and itching THIS IS NORMAL
Swelling
Redness
Day 1:
Clean the area every hour with a damp cotton pad on
the day of your procedure to remove excess blood and lymphatic fluid.
Days 1-14:
Apply Hydra Gel to the area each morning and evening to promote healing and soothe the area
IMPORTANT "DO NOTS" for 2 weeks
1. Avoid soaps, facial cleansers, water on the area. If the area does get wet, pat dry very gently with a tissue.
3. Avoid chlorine pools.
4. Avoid Retin-A on pigmented areas
5. No makeup on the area for 5 days, including non-
allergenic.
6. Hot, steamy, long showers
7. Sun/sunbeds on pigmented areas
8. Jacuzzi or saunas
9. Make sure you wash your hair with your head tilted
backwards to stop water r unning down you face
10. Do not try to hide your eyebrows with your fringe in the first 2 weeks, this is the easiest way to cause infection
- keep you fringe away from your eyebrows.
11. Shower with your back to the water to avoid water,
shampoo and conditioner from getting into the area
12. Let the area dry heal for 2 weeks
13.Do not pick the scabs
Is it painful?
It's not pain free, it's certainly uncomfortable. You are
implanting several acidic properties into an open wound and that is going to cause discomfort.
