What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is implanted into the upper layers of the skin. Treatments are gentle and appropriate for all ages, skin types, and genders. Although similar, they are not as invasive as a normal tattoo, while the pigment does fade over time, the rate of fading varies based on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routine. We use the term “permanent” because results can last for years, and in some cases, may never fully fade.

Permanent makeup has become the choice of many due to various reasons, mostly because it makes us look good. It improves our self-esteem and saves us a lot of time and money while avoiding daily application of conventional makeup.

How Does It Work?

Initial Consultation & First Session:
We begin with a detailed consultation to chat through your desired results taking into account your features, style and preferences. Amy will map out the ideal shape and colour before carefully implanting the pigment. The first session takes a more subtle approach, especially if you're feeling a little nervous.

Perfecting Session (6 Weeks Later):
Once your brows (or lips/eyeliner) have healed you’ll return for your top up session. This is where we review how the pigment has settled and makes any necessary tweaks to refine the shape, colour or depth. It’s also your chance to go a little bolder if you'd like!

Why Two Appointments?
Because every skin heals differently, the second session allows us to refine the shape, colour or depth and touch up any areas that may have faded to ensure your final results are beautifully balanced, long lasting and just what you envisioned.

You Need To Know

Before The Treatment

Refrain from caffeine on the day of treatment & alcohol consumption for 24 hours before your treatment.
Avoid Aspirin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen for 24 hours before treatment.
Stop taking Omega3 (fish oil) for 1 week before treatment.
No chemical peels, Botox, fillers or any other intense treatments for 2 weeks before treatment.
It is advisable to wash your hair before treatment so it is easier to care for your freshly applied PMU.

Eyebrow Treatments

Do not tweeze, wax, or dye brows for 2 days prior to brows treatments.

Eyeliner Treatments

Remove contact lenses and do not wear them again for the next 5 days while the area heals. Remove eyelash extensions at least 24 hours before and avoid using any lash growth serums for a minimum of 1 week before and after your treatment.

Lip Treatments

The condition of your lips can impact the outcome of the lip blush treatment. Ensure your lips are well hydrated for smooth application & optimal colour results. If you've ever had cold sores, it's strongly advised to start antiviral medication 5 days before & continue after to prevent outbreaks.

After The Treatment

After your treatment, you'll receive a healing pack that includes everything you need to care for your permanent makeup.

Twice a day, gently clean the treated area using a cotton bud and warm water then blot to dry.
Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream 2 or 3 times a day. (given to you after your treatment)
Do not touch the treated area - allow it to heal naturally.
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.
Do not apply makeup to the treated areas.
Do not apply any soaps, cleansers or creams (unless provided) to the treated areas.
Try your best to keep the areas dry, so take quick showers and don’t submerge your face in water and dry the areas with a clean cotton pad.
Do not use swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas or Jacuzzis.
Avoid extreme sun exposure and tanning beds.
Avoid heavy exercise and excess sweating - salt in our sweat can draw pigment out of the skin resulting in a patchy and uneven appearance.

After the healing period

Always use SPF cream or lip balm to protect your permanent makeup from sun fading.
